❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does this calculator do?
It tells you the exact GPA you need in your future credits to reach a target cumulative GPA, and now supports multiple grading scales and repeated course adjustments.
2. How do I use the repeated course feature?
Click the "Grade Replacement" section, add the old grade, new grade, and credits. The tool will recalculate your adjusted GPA (assuming the new grade replaces the old one). Then use that adjusted GPA in the main calculator.
3. Can I use percentage or 10‑point scales?
Yes! Select your scale from the dropdown. The calculator will internally normalize values so the math remains correct, and you'll see results in your chosen scale.
4. How accurate is the letter grade suggestion?
It's based on common US grade boundaries (A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.). Always confirm with your institution's official scale.
5. Why does my required GPA exceed the scale maximum?
If the needed GPA is higher than your scale's maximum (e.g., >4.0), the target may be impossible without extra credit or grade inflation. The tool will warn you.
6. Are there any limitations I should know?
Yes: repeat/grade replacement requires manual entry. International scale normalization is approximate — always confirm with your institution. Letter grade suggestions are estimates. Export/print is available for planning.
